Statement
My work is to document endlessly repeated daily life in my own way.
As countless dots are connected to become lines, similarly our lives are also in a long journey gathered my moments.
I tend to work on drawings or layers of delicate, rough, uncoordinated, and sharp lines.
On canvas, I use mixed materials such as pencil, charcoal, acrylic, and graphite, I am building a single-formed shape by overlapping and piling up loose lines when viewed individually.
Coincidences created by the spaces, existing between lines, and other lines bring me pleasure and joy.
Palm Springs, where I have been living for a long time, is a unique place where a sophisticated city and ancient nature coexist.
The vibrant sunlight with no single shade spot lifts up the colors of the city and makes the symmetry stronger. Trees and grasses let only minimal stems remain.
Unrealistically harmonized nature and buildings under blue sky give the feeling of installation art created by nature. I believe the strong segmentation s of the lines and colors in my paintings are influenced by the environment of this place.
